I recently got the Yamaha YPT-330, and was looking for a Power cable and Sustain pedal. When I saw this Survival kit, I was not sure what it was at first. After reading into it, I found it to be a great buy! It included a standard sustain pedal (it is small, and works, but it is nothing special), a power cable (Yamaha brand), headphones (standard over ear), an extended warranty (extends to two years! That was a nice bonus), and some DVDs and software.I was looking at the price of just the power cables for these keyboards and they were so high, that it was a better buy to get this! The extended warranty is a bonus and is nice and the sustain pedal works, but is nothing special. The headphones work but are also simple over the ear headphones. The DVD videos were interesting, but were not too educational, they mostly talked about Yamaha and there products, the section on MIDI and how to connect to computer is nice and if you are having trouble may be beneficial. The software that came with it did not work on my Mac (I am using Lion), and it was all PowerPC and Mac OS 8/9 software, which does not work on Lion. Since most of it is trial or limited I did not bother trying it on Windows. In the end, this is a great buy, and the extended warranty, Power adapter and Sustain pedal make this more than worth wild! I highly recommend for new keyboards and from my research, buying this package on Amazon is a lot cheaper than buying the power cable separate (plus with this you get a sustain pedal and extended warranty)!!!!!This is a great addition to the Yamaha keyboard and makes it more convenient to play. I like having a power adapted so I do not have to rely on batteries to power it. The cord that connects the power adapter to the plug for the piano is a little bit on the thinner side so it is important that caution be used that you don't yank on it.I also really like the headphones because I would prefer to not annoy others in my house while I am practicing. The headphones are comfortable to wear for a long time and have very soft pads on the ear phones. It is also great that it comes with some free trials for online lessons and websites. One of the free trials is only valid for an app that is compatible with an iPad.The bundle is good for the price. Headphones are amazing! I cant even tell the sound is coming through them. it feels like the sound fills the whole room, yet its in these headphones. I'm very surprised at the great quality of the headphones! The pedal is a little disappointing.... It works but it sticks a lot of times and I find myself having to put some WD-40 on it.Overall I say go ahead and get it if you need a power cord, and the headphones are a super good plus! But don't buy this mainly for the pedal.Purchased this kit along with the keyboard since I read that it oddly enough didn't come with an adapter for the power. The headphone plug is also different so I figured I would just get it in a bundle and the foot pedal, why not. I'll need it eventually I figured. The headphone is subpar. It looks cheap but does the job so I wouldn't drive my roommate absolutely nuts with my clattering of keys. The foot pedal is, you guessed it, cheap but does the job as well. The power adapter lasted only 2 days before it just randomly went out on me. I thought it was the keyboard at first and packed it up all ready to ship back to good ole Amazon til I thought to test the adapter. I was too lazy to ship it back and get a replacement so that part sucked... Overall it serves it's purpose if you just need something to do the job. And headphones are loud enough so no worries there. This Yamaha SKB2 Survival Kit for Portable Yamaha Keyboards is a complete waste of time and money. The box I received had only the Yamaha Power Adapter (PA130, Foot switch, Stereo Headphones, 2-Year Extended Warranty, Hundreds of dollars of Rebate Coupons. Of those things the adapter was was a good item. The foot switch seems very cheap, [see the other one star reviews], the headphones were small and I didn't try them... The two year warranty is not active unless you register the keyboard, and it is not a 2 year extended warranty, it is one year extended to two years. The "Hundreds of dollars of Rebate Coupons" seems completely an exaggeration. What you get are some online opportunities similar to a free introductory offer of a magazine subscription. These mean you have to have an internet connection and pay a monthly fee for various items. I don't know how they get "hundreds of dollars" from this approach. I sent it all back and got a power supply. And if I wanted them I would get better headphones and a foot pedal. This is a needed product if you are not familiar with keyboards. It gives you a heads up on just what a Yamaha keyboard is capable of doing. It has dvd's that will play on your computer or on a dvd player that shows by example how to use your keyboard. It also comes with headphones and a sustain pedal, but the most important item enclosed is the power supply for the keyboard. You surely don't want to keep buying batteries to use it and rechargeable batteries are not recommended for my Yamaha keyboard. It is well worth the price, but the headset is of very low quality. You get what you pay for and it did not cost much and will meet my needs. The expression/sustain pedal is shockingly tiny! The headphones have scratchy phone ear pads and are terrible. Lots of offers for online tutorial programs which you may or may not be interested in.My suggestion is to avoid buying this, even if it comes with a bundle. Instead, buy a power supply (it is possible to buy some Yamaha keyboards with the power supply included in the box, but make sure the listing actually says the power supply is included. For most Yamaha keyboards, you will need to buy the power supply separately. Stupid move, Yamaha). Also, buy a full size sustain pedal, as you will likely lose the tiny one contained in the little survival kit box, because the pedal is so small. Either that or you will crush it.Vraiment bien!
