I needed a 2nd monitor for my upstairs system. My requirements were: clear text, good brightness and reasonably good color rendition in a 1080p system. Microsoft Office (esp Word & Excel), YouTube, surfing. This Dell 2219H exceeds my expectations on all fronts.PROS:The picture is stunning. While balance – with no adjustment -- is spot on. It’s certainly bright enough. I’m looking right now at a 1080p wallpaper of a mountain lake with windsurfers on a bright blue with clouds day. No banding, no hotspots, no IPS “glow” issues, no stuck pixels. The details in the rocks by the shore leap out at me. I’m using the HDMI port. The bezel on this monitor is non-existent on the top and sides and minimal (.5 inch) at the bottom. Very svelte. The base is sturdy and is VERY adjustable (height, swivel, pivot & tilt). No wobble. They did not cheap out here.Low hassle out of box experience: I was able – start to finish have this installed and working in under 5 minutes. (It came double boxed by the way but I didn’t have to fight a million things to get to the product.) Windows 10 discovered it immediately. I've had no need to make adjustments. It was painless.* They give you a plethora of ports (HDMI, Display Port & d-sub VGA) and include cords. (NOTE: I don’t care about the USB jacks on monitors but it’s there if you want it. One of the jacks is USB 3.0).* This monitor looks so good that it makes my circa 2011 1080p Viewsonic 24” monitor (DVI-D interface, TN panel) sitting next to it looks a bit klunky / Fisher-Price. Don’t get me wrong, Viewsonic is an excellent brand and it has served me well, but the difference is so noticeable I will probably buy a 2nd Dell 2219H to replace the older monitor – it’s that good.* The Dell 2219H – visually and physically - hogs very little desk real-estate for it’s display area.CONS:* It’s “only” 1080p. For some people that resolution is a passe commodity. For my purposes I don’t care. This monitor is an example of a perfected ** affordable ** 1080p which still looks damn good. YMMV.* Gamers may or may not find this suitable for their purposes. The specs I find mention 5ms response time. YMMV.* This is the “Honeymoon”. We’ll see about longevity.* I can't say I have reviewed the picture adjustment controls BECAUSE I HAVEN'T NEEDED TO MAKE ANY! The picture is absolutely perfect. I do own an older, downscale Dell (VGA only) 19” monitor which has worked fine for 3 years. My son owns a Dell U2412 which is still going strong after 4.5 years.I can’t speak to sRGB color gamut. I would be quite happy editing 6MP 1080p JPEGs from my Sony HX-30 camera on this.SUMMARY: Very VERY pleased so far. 5 stars. Value for money, I almost want to give it 6. An excellent, overperforming jack-of-most-trades 1080 monitor. Makes for a slick, affordable dual monitor setup.ADDENDUM: SOME SPECS:Display: 21.5 in, IPS, W-LED, 1920 x 1080 pixels.Viewing angles (H/V): 178 ° / 178 °Brightness: 250 cd/m²Static contrast: 1000 : 1.Refresh rate: 50 Hz - 76 Hz.Aspect ratio: 16:9 (1.778:1)NTSC (1953) color space: 72 %Coating: Anti-Glare/MattePower Consumption 17 Watts.Dimensions: 487.3 x 293.4 x 41.3 mm.VESA mount: YES 100 X 100mmHeight adjustment: 4.72 InchesLandscape/Pivot: YES (90 degrees clockwise or counter)Left/Right swivel: YES 45 degreesForward/Backward TILT: YES 5 degrees forward, 21 degrees backward.Weight: 2.75 kg.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE 4 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE: LOVE IT!!!
