I purchased this monitor to replace a 10-year HP22. This monitor was very easy to install and set up. I used the Thunderport 3.0 USB-C with a video adapter and attached it to the supplied HDMI cable and it connected seamlessly. I was able to quite easily change the settings to get the monitor to be a very good match to my laptop. I really like the stand as the monitor is about 7 inches higher than the work surface. The monitor also tilts very easily. I did a lot of research on various sites and this was rated by one site to be the best" cheap monitor recommended", especially for gaming which I really do not do. It was packed very well and the assembly instructions were typical. One screw attaches the base to the upright and the upright snaps into a receptacle on the back of the monitor. One nice feature is that it is also very easy to disassemble. Very nice unit at a very reasonable price.4.4 stars. Overall I like it, but it suffers from backlight bleed (gray edges on left & right side of screen).BOTTOM LINE: Don't pay full retail for it, but worth it if on sale for 160 bucks or less, and you don't need a rotation/pivot feature. Most people don't "need" a refresh rate above 60 Hz, but if you are a hardcore gamer or have extra-sensitive eyes, the 144 Hz option is nice to have.PROS:+ The brightness is exceptional; I had to turn it DOWN to around 50% to be easier on the eyes.+ Easy height adjustment; simply slide it up or down.+ No bad or stuck pixels initially.+ Stand is solid.DEMERITS (minus 0.6 stars):- Did NOT come with a DisplayPort cable (but did include HDMI cable).- Backlight edge bleed. At this price point (MSRP 230 bucks), there's no excuse. Especially obvious on the entire left vertical edge of screen (gray edge instead of white), and nearly as bad on right side.Fortunately, the edge bleed/gray problem is only distracting when background is white or very light. Not really noticeable when gaming full-screen. It's not terrible enough to return the monitor (not a fun process), but I considered it.NEUTRALS:~ Not easy to entirely hide cables (poor cable management options), unless you bend them excessively, because the ports are bottom facing near bottom of rear.~ Windows 10 did NOT install a driver automatically, and DisplayPort connection didn't work properly. Had to go to HP dot com and find the right one; after manual install, DisplayPort OK.~ No rotation/pivot. You can buy a different stand that allows it to rotate, but that means spending more $.There are some similar-ish 24-inch HP models that do rotate, such as:HP 24mh (75 Hz)HP VH240a (60 Hz, no DisplayPort)This has the best 144 hrz monitor I had since a long time (not really) and I got this monitor on a discount and I was lucky enough to have it look new with no scratches and YES IT WAS USED BUT has barely no smell/oder and it looks nice but 1 small issue....It came with smal stand ?Which it's really cute cus it's smalThe monitor looks very THICK in the back but I don't mind and I heard this monitor takes alot more Wattz from the wall since it's old but idk ?♂️And the tiniest difference between the $150 hp monitor from Walmart and this one is that, this one has the most unnoticed darker color which I looked back and forth but I got used to it.For $160 price (Used) it was worth itThe packaging came with 1 box and another box in it to protect itself from damages and I respect that and also the box itself is heavy without the monitorUpdate: june 4th, 2022..thise monitor is okay but i found something really interesting after using monitor for months now.this monitor has a bit of a "Burned-in" thing if i have some things not move for a while but also seeing a tiny bit of a ghosting/blur while gaming. This is really noticeable if your really looking into the monitor close.lowering the hertz is TERRIBLE if you want like 50-80 hrtz and also like the ghosting/BLury dark stuff in the monitor is so noticeable while gaming and testing on the ufo ghosting thing. If only i found a better price on a better monitor. If you get issues such the display settings resetting to default every time you turn on this monitor, don't worry about refunding it. That's part of the drivers that apparently get installed once you hook it up to your PC, if you want less headaches, delete whatever new HP branded app in through your control panel. Or you can be like me and use the application to just set the monitor settings without having to push the buttons each time. Could've been 5 stars tho had it just asked me first.....Good monitor for the price. Ships with OMEN Gaming Hub which will reinstall itself if you remove it. It'll fight you on every setting of the monitor, overriding your preferences every time you set them. If you disable it on startup and disable background processes, it'll quietly re-enable itself periodically. It's basically an HP-branded Trojan. The only solution was to leave it installed, but muck up the app's assets & scripts so that it is still technically installed but is broken and unusable. My first monitor came with a gash on the upper left quadrant or the screen which was meticulously annoying to view in bright settings. After exchanging it with Amazon (a rather painless process, I must admit), I received an excellent condition monitor. This monitor has provided exactly the things it describes it would. Decent picture (not the best, but decent), a sturdy build, and a appealing design. The reason I chose this monitor over others was due to the non-flashy ‘gamer’ design. It fits perfectly with the aesthetic of my office space. If you are seeking a budget monitor I would highly recommend keeping this on your list of potential buys. I am sure there are better monitors out there for the price, but for what this provides, I think it is a solid option for budget gaming, schoolwork, or at-home desk use. This is great for daily remote workExcellent value for great quality. Compatible with Nvidia gsync if you enable it in the driver.
