PM IN DIFFERENT UNITS Apart from the regular μg/m3, it can also show in numbers per Liter, which is a much smaller unit. It give you more information when the PM2.5 is at 0μg/m3.
This is a handy device for what it is— mostly a portable particle counter that is affordable and small, with a view of estimated concentrations of smaller particles (0.3um, 1um). (Note: this type of sensor isn’t really able to be super exact at the very small or larger 10um particles for technical reasons).It is impressive how small it is and it does look pretty cute.It also does CO2 monitoring but that is less useful as it requires frequent calibration (every few days to a week) and seems to drift a bit faster than other monitors I have.The two main drawbacks otherwise:- Battery life (around 2 hours at best)- Screen is very dim and near impossible to read in sunlightWasn’t able to evaluate the app because after trying for an hour could not get the app to see the AirFanta G2.I would be willing to pay more and sacrifice some of its small size for more battery life and a better screen. Even an E-ink screen to eliminate readability issues in sunlight.This is handy for on the go checks if you can work around the limits above, and I look forward to a possible “pro” version that includes the above and also a way to download historical data, or way to link it to HomeAssistant or a better/different app.
