I was excited to get a tabletop easel that I can carry with me to help me teach class and to also use when painting. It took me looking at the photo again to see how it stood and how it would hold the drawing. The plastic grips at the bottom are just clips that slide down. They work and hold paper if you have a backer board behind it but the thing is they are slanted up to hold and in the photo they look flat so you have them in your way at the bottom. For the money it works but I wish I had spent a little more and gotten something flat along the bottom and maybe wood. It hold stuff well but for using it for painting and drawing it is merely ok.
